Liaison Contivo Helps HBSi Respond to Rapidly Changing Business Requirements

Hotel Booking Solution Incorporated (HBSi) is a global travel technology provider that connects hotel companies with distribution channels to exchange availability, rates and bookings. Facing projected messaging growth of two orders of magnitude, HBSi needed to move complex translation, transformation, authentication and authorization out of costly, custom-coded application servers and into a scalable, componentized SOA layer that could handle both XML and binary formats and support rapid partner expansion.

HBSi deployed IBM DataPower XI50 appliances together with Liaison Contivo VMS to offload mapping and routing logic, using Contivo’s graphical mapping to generate rules uploaded to DataPower. The combined solution eliminated the need for an ESB, increased system capacity at lower cost than replicating servers, and made onboarding new trading partners faster and easier—giving HBSi greater agility to change services and respond to growing business requirements.
