Case Study: Splunk achieves better observability and faster resolution with LF Decentralized Trust

A LF Decentralized Trust Case Study

Preview of the Splunk Case Study

Splunk correlates data across all datasets— including Hyperledger Fabric

Splunk, a major data platform vendor, faced the challenge of needing to monitor and gain observability into its customers' disparate data sources, which increasingly included distributed ledger data from networks like Hyperledger Fabric. Their customers, including large enterprises like S&P Global, struggled with data silos and a lack of tools to correlate blockchain ledger data with their other operational data for security and performance insights.

The solution implemented by Splunk was the development of an open-source integration to ingest, index, and correlate Hyperledger Fabric data—including blocks, transactions, and chaincode events—alongside all other data within the Splunk platform. For customer S&P Global, this provided a secure, tamper-proof audit trail for sensitive documents, improved system monitoring, and eliminated the need to build custom tools from scratch, accelerating their time to production and enhancing their ability to meet regulatory requirements.
