A LF Decentralized Trust Case Study
The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in partnership with DP World, faced the challenge of modernizing the emirate's complex, fragmented, and paper-heavy international trade processes. Their goal was to build a transparent and secure digital platform, the Digital Silk Road, to simplify import/export procedures, eliminate redundant paperwork, and unify data across multiple government authorities. They engaged vendor LF Decentralized Trust's Hyperledger Fabric blockchain technology to help develop this foundational infrastructure.
The solution implemented by LF Decentralized Trust, through its partner Avanza, was the creation of two initial blockchain applications: Unification of Trade Registration and Export Authorization. These systems provided a single-window interface for registration, enabled real-time data sharing across all entities, and created a completely paperless process secured by smart contracts. The results included streamlined operations, a seamless user experience, and a scalable foundation for future expansion, successfully launching the first phase of the Digital Silk Road.
