U.S. Army - Customer Case Study

The U.S. Army Directorate at Ft. Bragg needed a faster, more secure way to manage millions of personnel orders while reducing the heavy burden of paper, storage, and manual handling. Its existing process was costly and labor-intensive, and the team was looking for a better document workflow and archive solution. Lexmark provided multifuction products and Lexmark Print Management with Print Release for Common Access Card to help address the challenge.

Lexmark implemented CAC-enabled multifunction printers across the base so staff could authenticate securely, scan orders directly to the network, route them electronically to the right departments, and archive them for easy retrieval. The result was significant: the solution paid for itself in six months, eliminated more than 5,000 staff hours, and delivered about $1.3 million in savings. Nine staff members were reassigned to other mission-critical duties.
