Safety-Kleen, a leader in used oil recycling, parts cleaning, and environmental solutions, was struggling with an inefficient contract management process for its largest customers. National account managers and legal teams had no clear visibility into where contracts stood, causing delays, overload, and slower billing. Lexmark’s Perceptive Content, integrated with Microsoft Dynamics CRM, was used to improve the process.
Lexmark helped Safety-Kleen automate contract routing by creating a folder-based workflow that captured contract data from CRM, attached key documents, and notified the right reviewers. The result was dramatic: contract cycle time fell from just over 70 days to nine days, enabling billing 61 days sooner and adding $5 million in net present value on a $600,000 investment. Safety-Kleen later expanded the Lexmark solution to all customer contracts in less than eight weeks and began extending it to vendor contracts.
