Proofpoint, a provider of enterprise email security, data loss prevention, privacy protection, encryption, e-discovery, and archiving, needed a more flexible and cost-effective way to support its Data Loss Prevention Platform. Its existing email archiving and document filtering tools from Autonomy Keyview and Oracle were becoming limited, no longer supported key file types like Visio and AutoCAD, and were driving up recurring license costs.

Lexmark’s Document Filters, part of the Perceptive Search product family, replaced those tools and gave Proofpoint faster text and metadata extraction, easier integration, and continued support for critical file formats. The solution also consolidated email archiving and DLP capabilities, helping Proofpoint deliver complete analytics across file types and platforms, reduce customer risk, and rapidly roll out embedded enterprise search to multiple customers, including its largest global client.
