Presence Health, the largest Catholic health care system in Illinois, faced rising operational demands after a major merger and wanted to eliminate manual invoice processing, reduce errors, and free AP staff for higher-value work. To achieve this, Presence Health selected Lexmark and its Perceptive Intelligent Capture solution for accounts payable automation and document capture.

Lexmark implemented the solution quickly on Microsoft SQL Server and integrated it with Presence Health’s McKesson ERP system. The results included 94% field extraction rates on PO-based invoices, a reduction in paper-based processing from 87% to 10%, and a 40% decrease in staff time spent entering data. Lexmark also helped Presence Health improve auditability, reduce duplicate-payment risk, and accelerate invoice and document retrieval, supporting a more efficient and scalable AP operation.
