A Lexmark Case Study
Harvey & Thompson Ltd., the UK’s leading pawnbroking company with 122 stores, needed to upgrade its point-of-sale and printing setup as it moved to a wireless Windows-based system. Its old mix of laser and dot matrix printers was slow, unreliable, and dependent on costly pre-printed forms, while the existing cabling could not support the new infrastructure. Lexmark provided a more modern, wireless-ready print solution to meet the company’s contract-printing needs.
Lexmark implemented 200 E450dn and more than 80 E460dw printers across Harvey & Thompson Ltd.’s stores, replacing multiple devices with two faster, duplex-capable models. The result was a 50% reduction in printers per store and almost £50,000 saved in hardware costs, plus lower support and consumables costs through remote monitoring and variable toner settings. Duplex printing also eliminated the need for pre-printed forms, improving efficiency and reducing waste.
