Old Dominion Freight Line, a leading less-than-truckload carrier, needed to replace a manual remittance-entry process that was slowing accounts receivable, creating payment delays, and causing customer service issues. Old Dominion Freight Line turned to Lexmark and its Perceptive Intelligent Capture solution to automate remittance handling and improve efficiency.
Lexmark implemented Perceptive Intelligent Capture to validate remittance data against AS400 and SAP, allowing most documents to flow through automatically. The result was a 400-500% productivity boost, from 400 remittances per hour to about 2,000, with roughly 80% of items processed before staff arrived in the morning. Old Dominion Freight Line also gained real-time cash visibility, improved working-capital control, and maintained AR staffing levels while supporting faster shipment release and better customer service.
