A Lexmark Case Study
Mount Royal University faced the challenge of replacing 110 aging multifunction devices. The university sought a solution that would maximize uptime, enhance user productivity, trim costs, reduce its environmental footprint, and build a strong relationship with a provider. They specifically wanted to reduce unnecessary paper consumption. After a competitive process, the university chose to lease MFP technology and managed print services from Lexmark.
Lexmark implemented its Print Release solution, which requires users to swipe a card to initiate printing, eliminating forgotten and abandoned print jobs. The vendor worked quickly to procure and install over 100 devices to meet tight deadlines. As a result, in the first year alone, Lexmark's solution saved 332,000 sheets of paper. This reduction, along with lower toner and electricity consumption, cut the university's overall output-related expenditures by 14%.
