Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative Inc, a South Carolina electric utility serving more than 40,000 member-owners, needed to replace a limited, single-computer imaging system with a companywide document management solution. The utility chose Lexmark’s ImageNow and WebNow to better manage documents across customer service, accounting, and finance while improving access to bills and records.

Lexmark implemented a two-week deployment that integrated ImageNow with iVUE and homegrown Oracle-based applications, converted 300,000 document images, and enabled browser-based access through WebNow. The result was on-demand document retrieval, faster customer billing responses, better information sharing between offices, and a low-maintenance system that now supports about 55,000 scanned documents per month.
