Methodist Hospitals, a three-campus healthcare organization in northwest Indiana, needed to upgrade its Epic EMR environment quickly while replacing an outdated document imaging system that couldn’t meet its goals. The hospital wanted paper documents and clinical records to be seamlessly accessible from within Epic, and it chose Lexmark for its flexibility and ability to integrate with the EMR workflow.

Lexmark implemented Perceptive Content in a phased rollout, working on site with Methodist Hospitals to connect scanned documents, downtime forms, and physician signature workflows directly into Epic. The solution helped the hospital go live ahead of schedule, enabled doctors to access complete patient information from Epic, streamlined co-signatures and order workflows, and reduced paper use by about 35%.
