A Lexmark Case Study
The State Department of Veterans Affairs needed to cut costs and improve efficiency across 50 statewide offices, where multiple single-function devices were expensive to maintain, used excessive space and power, and created privacy risks for faxed medical and personnel documents. Lexmark helped the agency replace this patchwork with a more streamlined document workflow using Lexmark multifunction products (MFPs).
Lexmark implemented a standardized fleet of Lexmark MFPs with scan-to-email and document-routing capabilities, enabling the agency to digitize records, speed internal approvals, and eliminate much of its paper handling. The results included a 75% reduction in device count, elimination of copier lease costs, faster processes cut from days to minutes, and an expected annual savings of more than $100,000; one workflow alone saved over $7,000 per month and reduced paper use by 384,000 pages.
