Kuehne + Nagel, a global logistics leader, faced a heavy paper burden at its Southaven, Mississippi distribution center, where more than two million shipping and service documents were generated each year and had to be physically stored for claims and audits. The company turned to Lexmark, already its long-time printing and managed print services provider, to help modernize these paper-intensive workflows with better document management.

Working with Lexmark, Kuehne + Nagel implemented the Lexmark Logistics Document Management solution, Lexmark Managed Print Services, and Lexmark electronic forms/workflow tools to scan, barcode, index, and store documents electronically. The result was a 50% reduction in bill-of-lading printing, retrieval times cut from hours to minutes, and more than two million documents indexed annually; the broader Lexmark MPS engagement also delivered over $1 million in annual savings and reduced printed output by 1.1 million pages per year.
