A Lexmark Case Study
GreenVille Health System, a large South Carolina healthcare system, faced a fragmented print and document environment after years of growth through acquisition. With more than 30 vendors managing printers, copiers, scanners, and fax machines independently, the organization needed a centralized approach to simplify operations and support its goal of achieving HIMSS Stage 7. Lexmark helped address this with Managed Print Services and Point of Care Scanning.
Lexmark implemented a unified output strategy that brought the fleet under control, standardized consumable delivery, and enabled scanning of patient documents at the point of care. The results included reducing the device count by 2,000 and saving GreenVille Health System over $1 million per year, while making paper documents available almost immediately to clinicians and supporting faster EMR integration.
