A Lexmark Case Study
Florida Hospital, one of the largest not-for-profit healthcare providers in the U.S., needed a more efficient way to move ultrasound measurements from imaging devices into radiology reports and reduce errors caused by manual transcription. Its Radiology Department was handling more than 120,000 ultrasounds a year and using a paper-based workflow that slowed radiologists and required extra QA checks.
Lexmark implemented ModLink with PowerScribe 360 integration to automatically transfer, normalize, and populate structured ultrasound data into report templates. The result was a 19%–28% reduction in radiologist reading times, about 60 seconds saved per exam on average, nearly 90 hours saved per month across key exam types, and the elimination of reporting errors in an audit of 744 OB exams.
