Columbia Sportswear Company, a global outdoor apparel retailer, was struggling with an aging, hard-to-manage print environment that drove up maintenance costs, wasted paper and toner, and made it difficult to support sustainability goals. The company turned to Lexmark Managed Print Services, Lexmark multifunction products, and Lexmark Print Management with Secure Print Release to modernize its output fleet.
Lexmark helped Columbia Sportswear collect usage data, consolidate devices, and standardize printing across the headquarters, reducing the fleet from 176 devices to 62 and from 65 models to just eight. The result was a 37% drop in overall output costs, a 60% reduction in device headcount, nearly a million fewer pages printed annually, and a 6% decline in toner use.
