City of Greensboro - Customer Case Study

The City of Greensboro, North Carolina, needed a faster, more organized way to manage large volumes of paper across departments such as accounts payable, police, fire, and human resources. Its old imaging system was slow, hard to use, and didn’t integrate well with Lawson, creating manual work, delayed payments, and productivity losses. Lexmark’s Perceptive Content was introduced to replace that system and support document-heavy workflows.

Lexmark implemented Perceptive Content with Lawson integration, giving staff one-click indexing and instant access to scanned documents. The results included much faster AP processing, a two-day backup process reduced to a fraction of the time, and indexing that took about half the time of the manual method. It also improved HUD audit preparation, sped up vendor inquiries, and enabled quick access to police and fire records, helping the city move toward paperless operations and greater efficiency.
