A Lexmark Case Study
CHRISTUS Health, a large Catholic health system with more than 40 facilities, needed to standardize image access across eight regional PACS systems and improve long-term storage for medical images and other clinical content. The organization wanted a neutral, non-proprietary archive that could support clinicians, off-site radiologists, and future growth without being tied to a single PACS vendor, so it selected Lexmark Healthcare’s Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA).
Lexmark implemented the VNA to centralize images as they entered PACS and to migrate historical archive data into a common clinical repository. The result was streamlined image abstraction and workflow, with staff able to access all of a patient’s clinical content from one place instead of visiting multiple systems. CHRISTUS reported that the process was previously manual and tedious, and that the Lexmark solution now provides standardization, intelligence, and better access across locations.
