Big Ass Fans, a manufacturer of high-volume low-speed fans, faced a challenge in improving the thermal comfort and safety of frontline industrial workers. Lexmark implemented its Optra IoT platform, powered by Microsoft Azure, to create a customized solution. A key component was a BACnet protocol translator skill developed with Lexmark to bridge the communication gap between devices. The results were significant, including reduced energy consumption, improved comfort levels, and major cost savings. Following a successful pilot at their own facility, Big Ass Fans reported zero heat-related incidents or complaints, validating the transformative impact of the Lexmark solution.
