A Lexmark Case Study
Asante Health System, a large healthcare provider in Southern Oregon and Northern California, wanted to strengthen referral relationships and give affiliate hospitals and clinics a more complete view of patient histories. While using Epic Community Connect, Asante also needed to share unstructured patient content beyond the EMR, so it worked with Lexmark and Lexmark Healthcare for Community Connect to extend its patient record.
Lexmark implemented Perceptive Content and a tightly integrated ECM solution alongside Epic, enabling Asante to share documents, images, faxed records, and other content directly within clinical workflows. The result was improved staff productivity, less manual searching, stronger physician preparation, and better patient care; at Sky Lakes Medical Center, for example, inbound faxes now index directly into Epic and users can work from only the profiles they need, reducing document handling and manual processing.
