Ardent Health Services - Customer Case Study

Ardent Health Services, a large healthcare network with more than 9,000 employees, needed to replace a paper-heavy document process that was costly to manage and made it hard to share information across departments. The organization also wanted to reduce overtime and give coders the flexibility to work remotely. Lexmark’s Perceptive Content was selected to support this move to electronic document management across health information management, emergency room, accounts payable, billing, and health plan operations.

Lexmark implemented Perceptive Content integrated with Ardent’s McKesson, IDX, and Lawson systems, enabling documents to be captured, routed, and linked to patient and vendor records. The results included about $365,000 in annual savings in the emergency room alone, AP processing 15,000 invoices a month with half the staff, and roughly $5,000 per week saved by avoiding overtime and contract labor. The solution also reduced lost documents, sped up access to records, and helped Ardent expand usage across more than 30 departments.
