The University of Vermont Health Network engaged LexisNexis® Risk Solutions to address poor provider data quality in its Epic EHR, aiming to increase reliability of key provider fields and reduce full‑time equivalent (FTE) hours spent manually maintaining records. The challenge was to automate monthly updates across a regional provider population (VT, NH and parts of NY) and improve data needed for critical business workflows.

Using the LexisNexis Provider Data Intelligence Suite to automate monthly Epic updates, the Network improved data fill rates across every element (for example, specialty rose from 20% to 98% and DEA from 17% to 99%), updated 41,000 existing records and added 4,200 net new records. The initiative eliminated over 4,000 hours of manual work, producing about $149,000 in annual labor cost avoidance, and now runs monthly as a continuous quality improvement process.
