Rivermark, a life‑sciences analytics and strategic consulting firm, was hired by a major pharmaceutical company to identify U.S. scientific and clinical thought leaders and to map how major integrated delivery networks (IDNs) influence type 2 diabetes treatment and product uptake. The challenge was to gain clear, actionable visibility into increasingly complex IDN structures, decision‑making hierarchies and the true market value within those systems so the client could shift from rep‑to‑provider tactics to account‑based commercial strategies.

Rivermark partnered with LexisNexis, combining Provider Data MasterFile, MarketView and Systems of Care outputs with publication analysis, sociometric peer‑nomination and a 20‑element IDN profiling approach, then integrated the data into Rivermark’s visualization tools. The result was clear, layered maps of IDN relationships and claims volume, quantified market value, prioritized institutions and HCP targets, and concrete recommendations for field deployment and contracting—enabling more focused outreach and better-informed commercial decisions.
