Lehigh Valley Health Network Innovates Strategic Planning with LexisNexis® MarketView™

Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is a nine–hospital health system in eastern Pennsylvania with more than 2,800 clinicians across 95 specialties, anchored by a Level 1 trauma center and other specialty services. During the COVID-19 pandemic the system faced urgent, time-sensitive strategic planning needs but lacked comprehensive claims data outside its own network—limiting its ability to track referral sources, identify high‑value physicians and underserved communities, understand payer influence, and integrate external insights into existing workflows.

LVHN implemented LexisNexis® MarketView™, tapping a nationwide set of de‑identified claims and analytics and integrating that data into its internal interfaces. The solution revealed high‑impact practitioners, patient and procedural volumes by service line and care setting, and local referral networks—helping LVHN avoid an unprofitable sub‑service investment, prioritize outreach for a new Scranton facility, streamline physician recruitment and alignment, and gain competitive intelligence to identify growth opportunities while mitigating risk.
