How Accurint® TraX™ aided in the successful identification of the suspect, the location of the deceased victim, and eliminated one of the initial persons of interest

LexisNexis Risk Solutions supported the Office of the State Attorney, 1st Judicial Circuit (Investigator C. Forehand) in a complex missing-person investigation. The challenge was to identify phone carriers for the missing person and potential suspects, obtain complete carrier records from raw data, and locate the missing individual and the perpetrator amid incomplete or inconsistent information.

By using Accurint TraX for carrier lookup, legal-template generation, record processing and mapping—combined with device-geolocation training—the investigator quickly processed comprehensive phone data, reconstructed the suspect’s route, and pinpointed locations for video evidence. The work led to locating the buried victim so the family could have a proper burial, identifying and arresting the suspect, and removing one initial person of interest.
