LexisNexis Risk Solutions supported the Columbus (OH) Police Department after a fatal shooting involving four people seen in a red Ford Escape. The recovered vehicle’s infotainment system held raw location data that detectives needed converted and analyzed to reconstruct the vehicle’s movements and identify the suspects.

LexisNexis’ Public Safety Special Investigations Unit converted the file and returned it in under 30 minutes for upload into Accurint TraX, allowing investigators to trace the vehicle for two days prior and one hour after the homicide, identify six stop locations, and pull corresponding video. One suspect’s use of Apple Pay produced subscriber records that led to the identification, arrest and murder charges for all four individuals.
