Mission Police Department Mastering A New Policy Management System

Mission Police Department, a 29‑officer agency serving about 9,900 residents in Mission, KS, faced a chaotic, outdated policy manual after frequent leadership turnover. Captain Kirk Lane needed to organize, update and standardize department policies but was uneasy about managing a new content system. He selected Lexipol’s Kansas Law Enforcement Policies and Training solution and its Knowledge Management System (KMS) to bring consistency and continuous updates to the department’s policies.

Lexipol implemented KMS (including access to the KMS Beta and a mobile app) and provided hands‑on support through account manager Theresa Furman to guide the department through the transition. As a result, Mission Police Department now has living, continuously updated policies that reduce liability, give its 29 officers quick mobile access to protocols, increase on‑street confidence and empower officers to make informed decisions—outcomes Capt. Lane directly credits to Lexipol.
