Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, a 200‑officer agency between New Orleans and Baton Rouge, was struggling to manage rapid growth with an outdated paper policy manual and the need for highly customized policies unique to Louisiana sheriffs. After exposure to Lexipol at a conference, the agency pursued Lexipol’s policy solutions and became the first sheriff’s office in Louisiana to adopt a Lexipol policy manual.

Lexipol delivered a customized electronic policy management system with Professional Services implementation support and Daily Training Bulletins to reinforce standards and training. The Lexipol solution streamlined updates (Lexipol monitors legal changes), increased productivity and consistency across the department, and helped Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office earn CALEA accreditation in April 2022, with plans to expand Lexipol to corrections and influence neighboring agencies.
