Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office earns CALEA accreditation in 2022 with Lexipol

The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office (APSO) in Louisiana faced challenges in managing its policy manual, which was a cumbersome paper binder that could not keep pace with rapid agency growth and unique state-specific requirements. The vendor Lexipol provided its policy management solution to help APSO modernize, customize its policies, and work towards CALEA accreditation.

Lexipol implemented its online policy system and Daily Training Bulletins, which provided APSO with best-practice policies, law updates, and a platform for department-wide training. As a result, the agency achieved CALEA accreditation in April 2022. Lexipol's solution provided policy uniformity, sparked important internal conversations, and increased productivity, leading APSO to also adopt the system for its corrections facility.
