Case Study: TCI Group achieves centralized, scalable security and fleet tracking with LenelS2 (S2 NetBox)

A LenelS2 Case Study

Preview of the TCI Group Case Study

TCI Group Was Able to Not Only Meet Those Challenges, but Created an Innovative Fleet Management Solution to Combat Insider Threats

TCI Group, a Canadian energy and communications contractor with 11 locations, ~1,500 employees and $170M in annual volume, was operating separate, aging analog security systems that were costly to manage and vulnerable to insider theft of materials. Seeking a centrally managed, scalable solution, TCI selected LenelS2 and its S2 NetBox IP‑based security platform (Extreme and Micronode controllers) integrated with intrusion detection and Milestone video management to modernize access control and remote administration.

LenelS2 implemented a web‑accessible, centralized IP security system that consolidated site control, enabled remote provisioning (eliminating six‑hour drives to add users), and innovatively used card readers to track trucks as a fleet‑management tool to stop copper thefts and generate evidence for law enforcement. The deployment streamlined operations across all sites, allowed TCI Group to transfer overnight duties to a security firm, and delivered an expandable solution that thwarts insider threats without added hardware or software.
