Rock Hill School District Integrates Von Duprin Remote Undogging Options With S2 Netbox

Rock Hill School, a large district in York County, S.C., serving nearly 18,000 students, faced a gap in perimeter security: many secondary exterior doors were not connected to its S2 NetBox access control system, requiring staff to manually undog doors during lockdowns or events. LenelS2 was the district’s access control software provider and the district needed a cost-effective way to extend real-time lockdown capability and event scheduling to those openings without replacing existing hardware.

LenelS2 integrated Allegion’s Von Duprin Remote Undogging (RU) retrofit kits with S2 NetBox to add wireless remote undogging, door-status monitoring and scheduled locking to existing exit devices—initially deployed on five openings. The integration enabled full perimeter lockdowns in seconds rather than minutes, reduced manual touring and the risk of doors being left unlocked overnight, and delivered cost savings by retrofitting existing hardware; Rock Hill plans to expand the solution districtwide.
