Copenhagen Energy - Customer Case Study

Copenhagen Energy, the City of Copenhagen–owned utility serving water, district heating, gas, cooling and drainage for more than one million residents, faced increasing threats to widely dispersed infrastructure — hundreds of remote wells, pumping stations and control buildings — and needed an open, networked, user‑friendly security platform. To address this, the organization engaged LenelS2 and selected the OnGuard® system.

LenelS2 deployed a scalable OnGuard solution across hundreds of sites using two redundant IBM servers, 115 intelligent controllers, 300+ card readers, ~7,500 I/O points, ~1,500 GPRS connections, 11 surveillance PCs and seven video servers, integrating HID multiCLASS and NEDAP readers and using the DataConduIT API for real‑time telemetry. The result: improved protection of utilities serving over one million citizens, faster incident response via centrally displayed alarms, streamlined future expansion and integrations, and automated workflows for tasks like electronically managed well inspections.
