Case Study: Decathlon launches 10 marketplaces in 6 months with Lemonway

A Lemonway Case Study

Preview of the Decathlon Case Study

How the modularity of the Lemonway offer allowed Decathlon to launch its marketplace in 10 countries in 6 months

Decathlon, a major sporting goods retailer, sought to consolidate its online presence by launching marketplaces in multiple countries to broaden its product offerings beyond its own brand. The challenge was to find a payment service provider (PSP) that could guarantee secure payments for a multivendor platform while allowing Decathlon to maintain control over its payment flows and existing tools. They turned to Lemonway for its payment processing and collection services.

Lemonway provided a modular payments solution that was both flexible and adaptable, enabling Decathlon to successfully launch 10 separate marketplaces across Europe within just six months. Crucially, Lemonway's system integrated with Decathlon's existing payment infrastructure, allowing customers to use preferred and local payment methods. This partnership resulted in significant growth, with over 850 sellers onboarded, processing over 105,000 orders and generating 115 million euros in GMV.
