Transport for London Migrates SAP to AWS Cloud as a Foundation for Business Transformation

Transport for London (TfL) faced the challenge of modernizing its complex, on-premises SAP estate from 2004, which was hindered by high levels of bespoke code and limited automation. Seeking a more agile and cost-effective platform to prepare for SAP S/4HANA, TfL selected the AWS Cloud and chose Lemongrass as its partner to manage the migration and ongoing services.

Lemongrass successfully migrated TfL's entire SAP landscape, including 32 applications and 252 servers, to AWS with near-zero downtime. The solution utilized a standardized Lemongrass architecture with SUSE for SAP OS clustering to ensure high resilience. This migration provided TfL with immediate cost savings, established the technical foundation for its future move to SAP S/4HANA, and enabled further business transformation.
