Unwired Things enables faster firmware and language updates in seconds with Lemberg Solutions

Unwired Things, a Danish company developing assistive products for the visually impaired, needed an iOS companion app for its smart home controller. Without in-house app development skills, they required a vendor to build a solution that would allow users to independently update firmware and manage the device. Lemberg Solutions was engaged to develop this accessible mobile application.

Lemberg Solutions created an iOS app using Swift and SwiftUI, designed with an accessibility-first approach. The solution featured a gesture-based screen reader and implemented dual connectivity—using BLE for frequent commands and a local Wi-Fi channel for transferring large files—to optimize battery life. The result was a user-centered app that gave visually impaired users the freedom to configure their controllers without assistance, successfully augmenting the client's product line with additional accessibility. Lemberg Solutions delivered the project on time with smooth communication throughout.
