NoiseAware, a US-based IoT startup providing privacy-safe noise monitoring sensors for rental properties and hotels, faced a challenge with unstable sub-1 GHz wireless connections between its indoor and outdoor sensors. The company engaged Lemberg Solutions to perform a firmware rework and develop a new architecture for its existing code based on the TI CC1310 microcontroller.

Lemberg Solutions implemented a new tethering protocol and developed a state machine that allowed the devices to alternate between four distinct operation modes for different ranges. This solution minimized power consumption, strengthened signal reliability, and doubled the device's maximum work range.
