U.S. Army Corps of Engineers completes 90-day IT transition with Leidos

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) faced the monumental challenge of transitioning its large-scale IT support program, which serviced 37,000 users across 1,700 sites, to a new vendor in a strict 90-day period. Leidos was selected to provide these enterprise-wide IT services and was immediately tasked with onboarding over 550 personnel across six different service areas without disrupting the customer's vital operations.

Leidos successfully implemented its process-driven StarTT transition methodology to manage the startup, transition, and transformation phases. This approach enabled the team to complete the transition an average of three days early per phase and achieve final Authority to Operate two days ahead of schedule. The results for USACE included handling a 25% increase in service desk calls, consolidating end-user documentation, and identifying 13 key areas for process improvement, all while ensuring consistent productivity and minimum downtime.
