The Extras Dept., a Belfast-based extras agency founded in 2007 that supplies talent to major TV and film productions and is expanding to Dublin, faced a costly operational challenge. Their process relied on paper release forms signed at the end of the shoot day, risking that an unsigned extra could leave and invalidate a day’s filming—exposing productions to tens of thousands in losses—and generating over 100,000 pieces of paper annually.

With help from Atto Partners, they integrated Legalesign’s e-signature via API into their EDDIE management system, choosing the platform for its pay-as-you-go pricing, compatibility, and support. Contracts are now signed at the start of the day in about five minutes, thousands of documents have gone paperless, ink and paper costs have been eliminated, and the agency has materially reduced business risk while speeding operations.
