XDA Developers - Customer Case Study

XDA Developers is the world’s largest Android and mobile development community, supporting about 5.5 million members, 42 million posts and 1.5 TB of shared files. Facing the need to reduce operating costs while dramatically improving infrastructure stability and availability, XDA required a relatively complex, custom hosting solution that balanced the best pricing with enterprise-grade reliability.

Leaseweb delivered a dedicated private rack with 15 IBM hexa‑core servers, a 10GE uplink and a tailor‑made redundant switch setup (two switches joined by a virtual chassis), plus an additional dedicated server outside the rack. The configuration raised capacity and availability, cut operating costs by 20%, reduced backend latencies by 80%, and lowered ping times by hosting the servers in Leaseweb’s Washington D.C. data center.
