Case Study: International Paralympic Committee achieves scalable, reliable Paralympics website performance with Leaseweb

A Leaseweb Case Study

Preview of the International Paralympic Committee Case Study

International Paralympic Committee - Customer Case Study

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) is the global governing body of the Paralympic Movement, organizing the summer and winter Paralympic Games and overseeing multiple sports worldwide. Ahead of the record-breaking 2012 Games the IPC launched a media-rich new website (built by Atos) that needed to handle massive traffic spikes while keeping costs low as a non-profit — so they engaged Leaseweb for scalable, reliable hosting.

Leaseweb provisioned a cost‑effective platform of 13 dedicated servers (8GB and 16GB HP ProLiant and Dell PowerEdge, Windows and Linux) with flexible upgrade/downgrade options and a high‑performance network. Capacity was scaled up ahead of the Games to absorb a 300% traffic surge, keeping the site live and responsive throughout the most successful Paralympics to date.
