A Learning Tree International Case Study

Preview of the Tennessee Department of Children's Services Case Study

IT Academy Supports the Department of Children’s Services (DCS) Through Data Analytics and Systems Reporting Training

The Tennessee Department of Children's Services (DCS) sought to enhance its use of data analytics and systems reporting to better support its child welfare mission. The agency partnered with vendor Learning Tree to train its IT professionals on effectively utilizing its new statewide Tennessee Family and Child Tracking System (TFACTS) and to meet its strategic objectives for data-driven decision-making.

Through a series of IT Academy courses provided by Learning Tree, including Oracle Database Introduction and PL/SQL Programming, DCS employees gained critical skills. The solution enabled staff to write advanced queries, ensure data integrity, and support the TFACTS system. Results included a 40% average knowledge improvement per training event and strong positive feedback from employees who immediately applied their new skills to their roles, directly supporting the agency's vital mission.
