Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service faced the challenge of giving its roughly 1,000 firefighters fast, accessible training around long shifts and unsociable hours without overspending. To meet this need they partnered with Learning Pool Limited, using Learning Pool Limited’s LMS and e-learning content to deliver mandatory operational training and assessments online.

Learning Pool Limited implemented an LMS-based solution hosting 66 assessments, enabling over 6,000 online completions and removing instructor marking for instant results. The change saved more than £7,100 on the Crew Commander Assessment (over £224 per firefighter for that assessment), sped up delivery, ensured consistent, compliant training, improved accessibility across shifts, and connected stations through an internal online community.
