Hasselt University’s Centre for Applied Linguistics (CTL) faced the Erasmus+ challenge of raising the quality of education by understanding how students learn online; there was no clear way for institutions or learners to see online learning habits. To address this, CTL partnered with Learning Pool Limited, using Learning Locker LRS (and associated STREAM tools) to capture and analyse student activity across multiple online language and maths courses.

Learning Pool Limited implemented a bottom‑up learning analytics solution that mapped student behaviour across four course types and delivered easy‑to‑use dashboards for non‑specialists. The dashboards let students view and compare their learning profiles and gave educators real‑time overviews to spot at‑risk learners and course problem areas, enabling earlier intervention and targeted feedback—directly supporting the project’s goal to raise education quality.
