Case Study: Warwick Business School achieves high student engagement and measurable workplace impact with Learning Pool Limited

Developing qualifications to help organisations improve

Warwick Business School (WBS) needed to deliver a new, fully accredited online postgraduate programme in Service Operations Management to global, working students while ensuring the learning translated into workplace improvements. To create an engaging, social and practice-focused experience, WBS selected Learning Pool Limited and its Stream platform to run the courses and integrate them with the school’s LMS.

Using Learning Pool Limited’s Stream, WBS built four module-based social learning experiences (45–80 learning objects per module), integrated via SSO, where students earned points for viewing, commenting and contributing, completed workplace-oriented assignments and peer-reviewed each other’s work. In the latest cohort 35 students enrolled and 33 completed; students averaged 165 contributions and wrote over 4,000 words in comments each; top contributors averaged final marks of 71.75 versus 64.05 for the lowest contributors (a 7.70 point gap / 1.5 SD). More than 200 learners have now completed the award, and employers reported tangible impact, including one savings of over $1.5 million.
