Case Study: Desjardins achieves 50% training cost savings and rapid product rollouts with Learning Pool Limited

A Learning Pool Limited Case Study

Preview of the Desjardins Case Study

Delivering a 50% cost saving for Desjardins

Desjardins, the largest association of credit unions in North America, faced high costs and lost productivity from traditional instructor-led training (ILT) in its call centers. To find a more efficient approach they engaged Learning Pool Limited and trialled its Stream (formerly Curatr) social learning platform as an alternative to ILT.

Learning Pool Limited implemented a product-knowledge course using Articulate Storyline for bite-sized content and Stream to deliver social learning, with subject-matter experts responding to learner conversations instead of creating full e-learning up front. The pilot delivered an estimated cost saving of at least 50%, a direct benefit of C$370k from more time at desks, and cut rollout time for new products from about six months to six weeks—a change Desjardins conservatively valued at C$1M and that shifted training benefit metrics dramatically in Learning Pool Limited’s favor.
