CDSM, the developer of the HWB national learning platform for the Welsh Government (deliverable to 500,000 teachers and learners), faced the limits of a traditional LMS that only returned top‑level metrics like test scores and completions. To close the gap between teachers and learners they integrated Learning Locker®, the Learning Record Store from Learning Pool Limited, to capture richer, xAPI‑based learning data across many touchpoints.

Learning Pool Limited implemented a self‑hosted Learning Locker® LRS that stores every pedagogically significant event as xAPI statements, integrates those statements into mark‑books and student records, and is tuned on AWS/MongoDB for scalable performance. The result is real‑time, deeper visibility into learner activity, reduced manual admin, earlier detection of performance trends and interventions, and data‑driven policy and product decisions — measurable through increased platform usage, engagement and improved learner performance.
