Building a Community with Improvement Fundamentals

NHS England’s Accessible Learning Team needed to revamp its Improvement Fundamentals online programme so health and care staff could collaborate and learn in a more social, community-driven way. Previous systems left learners disconnected (no comment threads, limited peer interaction), so NHS engaged Learning Pool Limited to deliver a community-focused Learning Experience Platform, using Stream LXP (formerly Curatr), to better support peer interaction and facilitator-led discussions.

Learning Pool Limited implemented Stream LXP and restructured the course into bite-sized mini-courses (~2.5 hours each) with social feeds, experience points (XPs), badges and facilitator moderation. Since the July 2018 relaunch, nearly 2,000 students have enrolled, learners have posted over 5,300 comments, the programme is CPD-accredited, and the course’s Twitter community has grown to 1,500+ followers — clear, measurable increases in engagement and community learning driven by Learning Pool Limited’s platform.
