A Learning Pool Limited Case Study
BMJ, through its BMJ Learning division, provides accredited CPD and medical education but faced a scalability problem: 538 legacy courses in XML across five languages sat in a proprietary LMS and required developer intervention for every change. To avoid the time- and cost-intensive option of reauthoring, BMJ engaged Learning Pool Limited to modernize the content delivery using the Adapt builder format.
Learning Pool Limited created an automated conversion script and mapping rules, ran trial conversions and QA across English and multi-language content, and converted all 538 courses into responsive Adapt format. The solution cut the risk of human error, saved the equivalent of years of reauthoring effort and significant cost, and gave BMJ’s content team the ability to edit and publish courses quickly for multiple devices with minimal ongoing input.
