Cheltenham Borough Council, which employs around 235 people across 20 wards, faced fragmented and inconsistent learning and development after its previous LMS supplier ceased trading. The council needed a single platform to deliver a fit-for-purpose corporate induction, meet compliance and wellbeing needs, run a learning calendar and create a multi-tier leadership programme, and engaged Learning Pool Limited to provide a unified solution.
Learning Pool Limited implemented its Learning Management System with the Foundation Skills and Government learning catalogues, integrated performance development through "My Conversations," and made an ILM-accredited leadership programme (delivered with Gloucester College) available via the LMS. Launched as the UK entered Covid-19 lockdown, the platform enabled remote induction and a redeployment package for reassigned staff, supported blended accredited leadership development across three management tiers, and delivered significant cost savings and improved performance management for the council.
